Lucas Sun

Hi, my name is Lucas Sun. I am currently a Freshman at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and photography is my hobby.

I love taking pictures of things around me. In my opinion, it's the best way to store good and bad memories. I consider myself the person that stores the best memories for people. During my early stages of being a photographer, I only had my phone, but it was good enough. I love to take any picture I can everywhere I go, and soon, my 64-gigabyte iPhone is filled with over 60 gigabytes of photos. What motivates me to take pictures is the feeling I have every time scrolling through my album, there is always a story in each of the pictures I’ve taken. It feels like I have traveled back in time, every memory related to this picture has come up in my mind again.

Almost none of my photos are planned, I’ve taken them every time I travel or I saw something interesting. All the different shapes, colors, and lightings around the world inspire me and make up infinite combinations. I believe everyone could become a photographer if they learn some composition and color grading.

My work signifies my life, and the time I have been in this world. If you ever were to ask me about any photos I’ve taken, I could explain the story to you in detail. My album is my second brain, it stores all kinds of memory for me to remember.
